Drive through Shower

About The Southern Social TX - Wedding magazine for Texas brides

The theme of our shower - she found her main squeeze - came to life around a lemonade stand custom built by one of the hostesses. Paper Planet designed the super fun yellow and blue invitations that set the tone for both the decor and our coordinating outfits.

We wanted an open-air shower so people could feel safe whether they decided to drive by or to hop out and celebrate with us while comfortably socially distancing. Guests were greeted by custom signs throughout the yard that matched the invitations, and yellow ombre balloon garlands hung from the trees to create a bright, dreamy atmosphere. Vases filled with sliced lemons and fresh hydrangea sat on gingham fabric atop tables spread out around a decorated tree swing that we sat on to open gifts.

Refreshments included individual hors d’ouevres, lemon cupcakes, and cotton candy champagne cocktails. Then there was the sweet vintage bicycle streaming with yellow and blue ribbons for cute photo opportunities. The infamous lemonade stand was filled with an assortment of yellow sweets, and homemade lemon sugar scrub party favors for guests to take home.
